Mid-South Transplant Foundation will gladly facilitate all correspondence between recipients and donor families. Deciding whether to write your donor family or recipient is a personal and sometimes difficult decision. Perhaps you don’t feel ready to write or don’t know exactly what to say. You have a unique story to tell, and we want you to tell it at your own pace.

Regardless of whether you decide to send a simple card or a detailed letter, just by reaching out you are letting your donor’s family know you are thinking of them with gratitude. Please do not feel that your expression of interest is unwelcome, should a response take time or not arrive at all. Your gratitude or concern for the wellbeing of the other party is greatly appreciated.

The Family Care staff at MSTF is always available to assist you with writing to your donor family or recipient. We can answer questions about the process, discuss your feelings about taking this step, and help you write your card or letter. Please do not hesitate to call us with questions or concerns at (901) 328-4438 (GIFT) or (877) 228-5433.

Send your letter to:

The Mid-South Transplant Foundation invites you to participate in the making of a Donor Family Quilt to honor and preserve the memory of your loved one. Each quilt is created with approximately 16 unique squares and upon completion will be dedicated to the memory of all those who have given the Gift of Life. Each square is a personal tribute to the life and heroism of your loved one as an organ or tissue donor. We are always working on new quilts so once we receive your loved one’s square we simply add it to the next quilt we assemble.

Our Memorial Quilts are displayed at our annual Donor Family Ceremony, at local hospitals, health fairs and other community events to raise awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation and to keep alive the memory of those who gave. We hope the quilt furthers your loved one’s legacy.
