Each November, Mid-South Transplant Foundation observes National Donor Sabbath (NDS). During this time, pastors/spiritual leaders and their congregations observe time in services and programs to educate the public about the need for donation, the generosity of the gift and the importance of registering to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.
Mid-South Transplant Foundation will partner with your congregation and community and provide literature, videos, or come speak about donation and the critical need for more registered donors, through our signature faith-based program entitled, “Be A Blessing.”
Gibe Hope, Give life and Be a Blessing, by helping to spread the message of donation to your congregation and encourage them to register. Research has shown that one of the main reasons people hesitate to register is the belief that it is against their religion. All of the major religions in the U.S. consider organ donation to be a final act of love, charity and generosity. With your help, we can eliminate this misconception and teach donation as a true act of compassion.
This November, we’d love for your ministry to be a part of National Donor Sabbath through one of the following avenues:
- You can host an event. (i.e., A Question of Faith Movie Night enclosed)
- Your ministry can get involved in an existing event. (Partner with a local school or organization for a health fair)
- You can have MSTF’s Community Outreach Department come speak at your place of worship a Sunday in November and show and excerpt of our signature video, “Be A Blessing.”
In addition to the above options, we can provide donation materials such as bulletin inserts and flyers
for your congregation to better understand organ and tissue donation and transplantation. So join MSTF
to give hope, give life, and be a blessing!
