Marc Casarez | Director of Operations – Tissue

Marc Casarez, a highly qualified professional holding certifications as a Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) and academic degrees in Biology (B.S) and Business Administration (MBA), serves as the Director of Clinical Operations- Tissue, at Mid-South Transplant Foundation. In his role, Marc assumes a multifaceted responsibility encompassing the daily operations, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance of the Tissue Department. He approaches his role with an unwavering commitment to honoring the gifts of every organ and tissue donor, every time. He believes in fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within the Tissue Department, recognizing the critical importance of these gifts in saving and enhancing lives. With a focus on driving efficiency and quality, Marc leads initiatives to improve donation outcomes. In his role as Director, Marc envisions maximizing donation through data-driven decisions and efficient process mapping. He leverages his expertise to analyze data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies that enhance the efficiency of the donation process. Marc’s strategic vision aligns with the broader mission of Mid-South Transplant Foundation to save and improve lives through the selfless act of donation.

Prior to joining MSTF, he served as the Director of Tissue Services at Southwest Transplant Alliance in Dallas, TX. Additionally, he held multiple roles as Tissue Recovery Technician, Donation Recovery Specialists, Trainer and Supervisor of Tissue Services at LifeGift in Lubbock and Fort Worth, TX. Before his work in organ and tissue donation he served as an Autopsy Technician at the Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Marc is a proud graduate of Texas Tech University and received his Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Association of Tissue Banks.
