After being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 37 years old, Mrs. Sara Beth Silverman was then diagnosed with renal failure 20 years later. Battling with multiple tests and doctor visits, Sara Beth initiated a request to get a pancreas transplant as well. From her extensive knowledge of educating herself about kidney disease and diabetes, she didn’t want her diabetes to damage her new kidney after the transplant. Now five and a half years post kidney & pancreas transplant Sara Beth joins ARTavius and chats about her journey to transplantation on the fourth episode of the “Stories of Hope podcast.”
