Before being diagnosed with kidney disease at four years old, Phillip Jones Jr.’s complications stemmed from a post-strep throat illness. From post-strep throat to full-blown seizures, his doctors identified the underlying cause of his now kidney disease diagnosis. As years passed, he began dialysis for a few years and got the call for his kidney transplant at 16. A few years later, as a theater major in college, his life turned upside down from a trip to Arizona with his theater team that began the journey of his kidney rejecting and soon after going back on dialysis. Now 12 years on dialysis, Philip joins ARTavius and chats about his journey to transplantation on the sixth episode of the “Stories of Hope podcast.”
